MADRID PERENNIAL RYEGRASS

Limagrain UK is pleased to advise that Madrid perennial ryegrass is now available for use within the amenity sector of the grass market. This new cultivar is, quite literally, a Number 1 variety for all winter sports pitches and heavy wear areas. The variety sits proudly at the top of the 2009 BSPB/STRI list for Perennial Ryegrasses for Sport Use. 
 
The company also says that another new variety has also been added to the amenity grass portfolio – Milan. This variety is also ideal for sports pitches and, like Madrid, it is extremely hard wearing with high recovery rates coupled with excellent disease resistance and shoot density.

To maximise the value of these new introduction the company has included them in several of the top quality MM range. Matt Gresty, the company’s Sales Manager for Amenity Grasses, takes up the story.

“Madrid has been incorporated into our MM 60, the leading 100% Ryegrass mixture for renovation for all winter Sports pitches, racecourses and high wear areas. Milan can be found in MM 25, our popular winter Sports mix that combines Ryegrass and Fescue, this mixture is excellent when constructing new pitches and surfaces.”
